EAGL Technology, Inc. partners with Dayton Children's Hospital and deploys more than 400 EAGL Talon and DragonFly sensors

February 7, 2023—Albuquerque, NM—EAGL Technology, Inc. deploys a new gunshot detection platform at Dayton Children’s Hospital in Dayton, Ohio, as part of the hospital’s overall safety strategy. More than 400 EAGL Talon and DragonFly sensors link across the hospital’s multiple locations with the ability to pinpoint the exact location of gunshots almost instantly and alert public safety within seconds, allowing a quicker response.

As health care facilities, as well as other public venues and workplaces, face increasing threats of violence, the EAGL system has become a leader in fast and accurate gunshot detection. The EAGL Talon and DragonFly sensors operate wirelessly, making installation and maintenance easier than with wired systems. The sensors do not interfere with any hospital equipment or operational systems. Open architecture software makes it simpler to integrate EAGL sensors into existing security systems.

For Dayton Children’s, these were key selection factors. The EAGL platform collaborates with the technology already in place at the hospital including more than 600 cameras from varying manufacturers, a video management system, access control, a mass notification system and various public address systems. As the hospital expands, the EAGL system can be expanded as well.

“Hospitals are open 24/7 and face the security challenges of any workplace along with the need to be welcoming to the public,” said Mark Moore, corporate director of protective and support services at Dayton Children’s. “EAGL’s suite of products allow us to cover internal and external spaces, including parking lots and garages, without intruding on a family’s exceptional experience here.”

“The EAGL Emergency Event Management Platform is an ideal fit for large campuses. Our indoor/outdoor gunshot sensors, weapon detection, panic stations and mass notification features provide immediate notification of a threat and immediate lockdown when needed, as well as instant situational awareness to responding local law enforcement officials and security teams,” said Jennifer Russell, SVP of EAGL Technology. “EAGL gives building occupants the information and the time needed to get to safety.”

With the addition of EAGL gunshot detection sensors, Dayton Children’s Hospital takes protecting patients, families and staff to the next level. Technology and trained officers are an unbeatable combination.
