WHAT IS A GUN SHOT DETECTOR?

Originally developed in the mid-1990s, gunshot detectors recognized the sound of gunfire. 

EAGL Technology’s patented System reacts during an active shooter event (Indoor or Outdoor) by capturing energy levels with acoustic characteristics and performing on-board sensor waveform analysis. The analysis results determine whether or not further captured event signal examination is needed and what other system actions to initiate.

The ability of EAGL Technology's patented gunshot detection system to analyze ENERGY vs. heat or sound makes it the most advanced active shooter system ever developed.

EAGL Technology was established in 2015 after acquiring gunshot ballistic science developed by the Department of Energy (DOE) Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL). EAGL has advanced this technology by creating a state-of-the-art security system. The equipment includes the EAGL Gunshot Detection & Lockdown System and CityWeb.  Both product lines use patented FireFly® Ballistic Sensor technology which can be integrated with existing access control systems, video surveillance, intercom and public-address systems.  With this equipment development comes the expertise of over 100 years combined security experience.  Our team collaborates with security representatives at all government levels, facility managers, and other security professionals to ensure security assessment, planning & implementation are tailored to meet our customer’s security protocols, budgets and needs.

Outdoor Gunfire Detector

The DragonFly™ Outdoor Gunfire Detector is a wireless sensor designed specifically for Outdoor environments. The sensor is encapsulated within a proprietary, engineered housing allowing increased spherical detection range. Sensor placement determines detection area coverage – unobstructed range can be as much as 70,685 sqft. Application determines sensor communication options – LoRa or IoT.

DragonFly™ Extreme
Gunshot Sensor

The DragonFly™ Extreme Outdoor Gunshot Sensor is a wireless sensor designed specifically for Outdoor environments. The sensor is encapsulated within a proprietary, engineered housing allowing increased spherical detection range. Sensor contained within resonance chamber allowing flat wall, corner or pole mounting capability while providing an optimum spherical detection coverage area up to ~282,743 FT2. Application determines sensor communication options – LoRa or IoT.

Indoor Gunshot Detector

The FireFly® Indoor Gunshot Detector is wireless and designed to work in Indoor environments. Installation basically entails attaching each sensor using only two fasteners. Sensor placement determines detection area coverage – unobstructed spherical range can be as much as 31,415 sqft.

TransitFly
Gunshot Monitor

The TransitFly™ gunshot monitor is a lifesaving device links wirelessly to designated networks using IoT, cloud-based functionality. Device integrates with fleet tracking technologies. • Graphical User Interface (GUI) displays vehicle location • System uses embedded cell-based GPS • Notification features include: text and Email • Detects gunshots and explosion events • Detects Bus collision events • Sensor contains Panic Button to communicate to dispatch • System can send emergency messages via email & text.

EAGL Vape Detector

The EAGL Vape Detector continuously routes area air samples over internal components comprised of multiple metal-oxide (MOX) sensor elements. Another internal component uses light scattering and measurement techniques to detect and measure particulates associated with conventional tobacco use and vaping products.

EAGL Server

The EAGL Server not only controls the gunshot detection system operation but also allows integration with many third-party devices and systems providing a complete services umbrella for single or multiple site security! These services include but are not limited to: Access Control, Wide Area Warning, and Notifications. Best of all, the EAGL Server uses Linux OS and is capable of working with RESTful API architectures.

EAGL-VOX

This device distributes EAGL Gunshot Detection System PA messages using direct network connectivity. EAGL-VOX uses Power Over Ethernet (POE) communication with either a local or cloud based EAGL Server and contains components within an enclosure having an IP67 rating. Enclosure is of a polycarbonate composition and a polyurethane gasketed lid offering two-piece “tongue & groove” design. This construct provides protection against oil, dust and water intrusion while housing internal components requiring direct connection using POE CAT 5 - 6e cabling. Audio output to PA system is via 3.5mm audio output jack.

Panic Station

A self-contained, battery operated, wireless pull station, using a dual action switch when activated, transmits a signal to the EAGL Gunshot Detection System representing a threat condition and initiating a pre-programmed adaptive response. The panic station displays initiated action when the bar is in the locked down position. Device reset is only available via a key during reset process. All device transmissions are encrypted.

EAGL Gateway

All EAGL gunshot sensors communicate wireless to the EAGL Server via a Gateway. Communication to the EAGL Server is by Ethernet connectivity. The Gateway is the only system device requiring wired connection to EAGL gunshot detection system or network allowing easy and cost-effective installation. Gateway variety is dependent upon application. Options currently available include LoRa and LTE radio.

GATEWAY IoT

The EAGL Gateway is used to provide both wired & wireless communication and is comprised of components within an enclosure having an IP66 rating. The EAGL Gateway also includes internal LoRa radio circuitry to provide encrypted wireless, two-way RF communication with associated FireFly® and DragonFly™ Gunshot Detectors. The IoT Telit LTE-M transmits secure data between sensor(s) and cloud EAGL Server.

Duress Button

A compact, wireless, self-contained, battery operated device having a momentary switch when pressed, transmits a signal representing a threat condition to the EAGL Gunfire Detection System. The Duress Button switch / operator is encapsulated within a clear, hinged protective enclosure to prevent inadvertent switch operation. Button operation requires user opening the hinged protective top cover to access and press the switch / operator to activate the device transmission process.

BlueFly

BlueFly™ a body-worn sensor using patented technology designed specifically to detect gunshots near the wearer and monitor the wearer’s posture. When gunshots are detected or an officer-down situation occurs, immediate and autonomous notifications are sent to the RTCC / EOC. These notifications can consist of text, email or voice calls to MDT, CAD and smart devices and are functions associated with EAGL’s adaptive response integration that includes real-time GPS location. The sensor also has an officer activated panic button.
